Matilde Muriotto

Matilde is a Legal Associate based in the firm's Amsterdam office, where she works on matters relating to EU, UK, and US Sanctions and export control regulations.

Matilde holds an MSc in Political Economy from the University of Amsterdam, and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and International Organisations from the University of Groningen. Her studies focused on the governance of EU trade, economic statecraft, and the legal and political dimensions of economic sanctions. Her Master's thesis examined the EU's response to the WTO Appellate Body crisis, while her undergraduate research explored the effectiveness of sanctions in hybrid regimes, including Iran, Venezuela, and Russia.

Fluent in Italian, English, and Spanish, Matilde maintains a strong interest in EU sanctions policy, export controls, and the evolving role of economic statecraft in EU law and practice. She brings a strong interdisciplinary perspective, combining legal analysis with geopolitical and economic insight.
